A genuine Ghanaian djembe at a size that suits almost everyone. The 9" head gives you real bass depth and sharp, cutting slaps, while the lightweight Tweneboa cedar shell makes it easy to carry to lessons, drum circles and festivals.
Every one of these drums is carved by hand in Ghana by drummers who play the instruments they build. That matters: the bearing edge, the shell profile and the rope tension are all judged by ear and hand, not by a factory jig. The head is thick, unbleached goat skin, left natural for strength and tone, laced with tough rope tuning.
The Tweneboa (African cedar) is fast growing and bought through the Forestry Commission of Ghana, so the wood is responsibly sourced. Each shell carries its own hand-carved decorative patterns, so no two drums are alike.
