A real Ghanaian djembe, scaled down. The 7" head makes this the ideal first drum for children and beginners, and its light Tweneboa cedar shell earns it a place in any travelling musician's kit - it goes where bigger drums cannot.
Do not mistake small for toy-like: this is made in Ghana by the same drummers who carve our full-size djembes, with a thick goat skin head, proper rope tuning and hand-carved decorative patterns on the shell. It produces genuine bass and slap tones and responds well to real technique.
The Tweneboa wood is fast growing and bought through the Forestry Commission of Ghana, and the skin is unbleached and untreated for strength.

Beautifully hand-carved, our djembes are crafted from sustainable Tweneboa wood, a quality West African Cedar. Each drum features a different motif including African animals, decorative patterns and meaningful Adinkra symbols. This gives each djembe a truly personal touch.
