Televi Double Shaker

Two televi nuts, seeds inside, and a sound that is crisper and clearer than you would expect from something so simple. The televi nut grows all over Africa, and instruments like this double shaker have been made from it for generations.

It is an instantly playable rhythm-maker: shake it gently for a soft patter, harder for a bright, cutting rattle that holds its own alongside drums. Great in the hands of a percussionist, and just as good handed to a child at a family drum session.

Each shaker is handmade in Ghana from natural materials, so no two are quite the same.
